The Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery is a most modern centre of excellence, offering state-of-the-art surgical care for a wide range of heart, lung, and vascular conditions. The division has three state-of-the-art operating rooms, 12 bedded ICU and a dedicated step-down ICU facility. Apart from round-the-clock laboratory and emergency services, the division is backed by an excellent division of radiology to ensure highest level of care for patients promptly. • Essenz Perfusion System – A next-generation heart-lung machine designed to enhance safety, precision, and efficiency during cardiac surgeries. Engineered for goal-directed perfusion, it allows perfusionists and surgical teams to maintain optimal blood flow and organ perfusion tailored to each patient’s specific physiological needs. The advanced sensors, integrated data analytics, and an intuitive user interface monitors critical patient parameters and supports real-time decision-making and minimizes variability during cardiopulmonary bypass. It promotes improved patient outcomes by enabling personalized perfusion strategies, reducing complications, and enhancing postoperative recovery. The system represents a major leap forward in cardiovascular surgical care, aligning with our department’s commitment to using the most advanced and patient-focused technologies available.
• CentriMag Mechanical Circulatory Support System is an advanced mechanical circulatory support device used in the management of patients with severe cardiac or cardiopulmonary failure. It provides support for the left, right, or both ventricles—functioning effectively as an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device), RVAD (Right Ventricular Assist Device) and BiVAD (Biventricular Assist Device), or as part of an ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) circuit. Featuring a magnetically levitated centrifugal pump, CentriMag ensures virtually frictionless, atraumatic blood flow, reducing the risk of hemolysis and thrombus formation. Its versatility and rapid deployment make it an essential tool for stabilizing critically ill patients, supporting them during high-risk surgeries, or serving as a bridge to recovery, transplant, or long-term therapy.
• Optimus AC3 Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) is a state-of-the-art intra-aortic balloon pump designed to provide hemodynamic support for patients with acute or chronic cardiac dysfunction. This advanced system offers precise timing algorithms, automatic triggering, and real-time monitoring to ensure optimal performance in even the most unstable patients. A standout feature of the Optimus AC3 is its reliable performance even during complex arrhythmias, where traditional IABP devices may struggle to maintain accurate timing. Its adaptive triggering technology and intelligent algorithms ensure consistent support, even in patients with irregular or unstable rhythms, including atrial fibrillation and frequent ectopy. Its compact, portable design makes it suitable for use in a variety of clinical settings, including operating rooms, ICUs, and cardiac catheterization labs.
